Wow. There are so many books I have for this category, and I'm sure I'm going to alienate so many followers ahah. Sorry, just my opinion! I can't help if I like or dislike something, but if you like these, good for you! I wish I liked these better, honestly.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

This is a huge book. Everyone who read it loved it. It has a whopping 4.29 stars on goodreads. Yet, when I read it all I can recall feeling is a whopping amount of disappointment. I'm sorry! I know everyone is in love with this series butI just couldn't jump on board. I wasn't overly in love with any of the characters, and I'm sorry but Laia just played the damsel in distress like five too many times.

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

4.05 stars on goodreads AND a goodreads choice winner. And I'll be honest, this book wasn't terrible. It's a big combination of all the popular tropes. And it's not that this one is bad, it just wasn't the end all be all that everyone seems to make it out to be. Actually, it's the rest of the series that I was more eh, about.  This first book is okay, though, again, I wasn't really attached to any of the characters or the relationships. I did like Maven and do still find him to be interesting. But I never actually finished the series. I think I stopped after book 3.

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

Another huge book. This one has a 4.05 on goodreads. Who doesn't love a good murder mystery? Everything in this was pretty predictable, and none of the characters or relationships were all that likable or compelling. I was not riveted by this one.

Alex & Eliza by Melissa de la Cruz

Yeah, this one... It plays too hard into the whole perfect girl trope. Eliza? Her older sister is the smart one, her younger one is the pretty one. Eliza doesn't have anything, but she's actually the perfect combination of both, wow. Yeah, just the portrayal of these characters was ehhh. Not a fan. The relationship was overly cliched as well. Just, I did not vibe with this book.
