This book was highly enjoyable. I think I may have liked the first better, but I still really like this one. I'm giving The Iron Daughter a 8.3/10 stars. While I still enjoyed the book, Megan got more annoying. Remember in the last review how I said she annoyed me only a few times? Well, in this book I got really irritated with her a lot of times and there were quite a few times where I felt second hand embarrassment. All in all, if you liked the Iron King, you should read the Iron Daughter, it's a pretty good follow up to the first book. If you want to see my feelings on the Iron King, scroll down.

SPOILERS FOR THE IRON DAUGHTER
First off, she's the Iron Daughter because she inherited Machina's powers.... right??
The simile of Mab's power to the power of a massive glacier was a little off feeling. It's a bit of a weird comparison.
Okay, Megan we get it, Ash is ignoring you, it makes you sad, you can stop saying it now, Seriously, that was all that was going through her head and it was starting to annoy me. Yeah, I get it, she's in love. But seriously, he did tell her that she couldn't have so much emotion in the Winter Court and it's obvious that he still likes her so if Megan could calm down like forty notches that'd be great.
We all know that eating faery food is bad by now and that Rowan is trouble so WHY IN RAZIEL'S NAME WOULD YOU EAT THE DANG APPLE HE GAVE YOU?! Seriously Meg, USE. YOUR. BRAIN.
Then we she yelled out I love you to Ash, FACE PALM.
Let's talk about Sage, shall we? I was just starting to like him when Julie killed him off, but she didn't give us, the readers, enough time to attach to the character so his death didn't really do much to the reader. I think if Julie had given us more time to get to know Sage then his death would've felt more monumental which is what it was to the Winter Court. I kinda imagine Sage as Daniel Gillies, his Elijah acting just make me think of Sage (the little we know about him)
When Megan was like, I hate you! and then wait, you were faking not liking me?
I was just thinking DUH MEGAN. Seriously, it's not that hard to figure out. Another face palm for me.
Like with the Sage thing, this whole book was a little too fast paced for me. Sometimes fast paced works, like in Legend, but this book seems like it's just trying to hurry through and be done. I feel like if Julie had taken more time to build the relationships instead of just having action on top of action, the book could've been a lot better maybe even 9 or 10 stars.
Okay, was Puck's return awesome or what? Don't say or what. I still LOVE Puck, so I was so excited to see him come back. These quotes just set my feels off
"I'll always come back for you."
"I'd come back from the dead for you."
Then after Puck's return we get Grim and it's like, YES! The team is back!
Let's talk about Iron Horse, shall we? Did any of you think he was just there to die? Because I did. He's just kinda there, yelling and fighting, and I didn't make any special bond with him and when he dies I feel like that was supposed to be saddening to me, but I didn't really care. I was more sad about Sage's death and all the what if's about age than I was over Iron Horse's death.
How freaking obvious was it that Charles was her dad? I mean, seriously, why did it take her that long to figure it out? I figured it out as soon as Megan was like, there's something familiar about him. I mean seriously, Puck figured it out before Megan and he never met her 'dad'.
Okay, I loved Leananisdhe she was awesome. I wasn't sure how I would feel about her when we first heard about her, but I ended up loving her character. She'd be a pretty awesome aunt/god mother as long as I didn't piss her off or anything.
Puck and Megan's Kiss. sldknfgrhwdajksvnfrkdjsvboirwhdfsvnjroidvh So much emotion. I loved that moment, except, she was thinking of Ash during it. Remember, as I said in my Iron King review, I have nothing against Ash and  even like him with Megan. I just want Puck to be happy, and Megan makes him happy, although, she's kinda breaking his heart right now which annoys me even more. I mean, he's always been there for her her entire life and she just takes it for granted. It pissed me off at her. Especially since she was just pretty much using Puck as a rebound since Ash said they could never be together. I really wanted to slap Megan in the face right then and there. Then add the part where he asks her to stay in Never Never with him and she's like I love you but no. I was SO FREAKING PISSED OFF. I just want to hurt Megan. Very badly. And for Puck to find a nice girl who deserves him.
Now let's talk about Ash. He's trying to do what's right, keep Megan safe and save the world. Let's leave it at he's a good guy. I'm looking forward to seeing whenever he and Puck make up and become friends. Because that has to happen. It's been hinting to that all through The Iron Daughter. They did used to be friends, remember?
Either he's going to somehow be able to give up his oath to kill Puck, or Puck is going to die and Ash is going to forgive him on his death bed. Those are the only two options I can see happening.
Wouldn't it make the books so much more interesting if Ash had sworn to never see Megan again? Then they'd have to somehow, I don't know, make all the faery oaths break able. But then I guess we'd never get to see Ash again because it's from Megan's POV unless she used a magic stalking glass or something.
Seriously, did Megan have to follow Ash back out into the regular world? She could've just waited then gone to visit him, then she wouldn't have been banned from Never Never and she could visit Puck in his homeland and all that cool stuff. But nooooo Megan just had to follow Ash. Even when Puck asked her to stay.
I felt SO BAD FOR him at that moment. Especially after she tells him she loves him then follows another man out of the picture. That must have hurt.
Honestly I don't care much that Megan's not allowed back into Never Never, I care more that Ash isn't allowed back and that Puck can't bring Megan back into Never Never. Though, I have a feeling she might be returning to Never Never in the future books. Don't know how, but she probably will.
Everything in this book jut came by too easily. It was too convenient, and there weren't that many hardships. You could argue that Ash got possessed. Blah blah blah but those were all really easily fixed, weren't they? I feel like it all just comes too easily for it to seem realistic. Yeah, I know, realistic in a faery world, whatever. The book needed more realism because everything just happened to come by way too easily. Like her sealed powers, just because her powers were sealed she got through everything just fine, especially because she has Iron powers too. Hurray for her.
I'll still be competing this series. Despite my complaints on the book, I still enjoyed it.
