When Penny discusses her friendship with Diane very early in the book, I really felt for her. I've lost my fair share of friends due to someone else or separation. It really does hurt. I'm glad her and Diane were able to make up. (Wait- is hat a spoiler? SORRY!)
I'm really glad there is a second book. I need more cuteness from these characters! Just like Better off Friends, the characters were very real as well as their relationships with each other. I really enjoyed this whole book and finished it in one sitting. Penny is a sweet girl who's very open but makes her fair share of mistakes. Ryan is hot, athletic, sweet, and funny. Pretty much everything you'd ever want in a guy. I'm giving this book a 8/10 stars. One of my favorites and one that I'd definitely be willing to reread as soon as I get the time.
I personally know next to nothing about the Beatles and still enjoyed this book immensely so all you Beatles fans out there? You'd really enjoy this book because it has many references to the Beatles.
Sorry for all the short reviews I've been posting, I have a lot to write today!
Synopsis:
Love is all you need... or is it? Penny's about to find out in this wonderful debut.
Penny is sick of boys and sick of dating. So she vows: no more. It's a personal choice. . .and, of course, soon everyone wants to know about it. And a few other girls are inspired. A movement is born: The Lonely Hearts Club (named after the band from Sgt. Pepper). Penny is suddenly known for her nondating ways . . . which is too bad, because there's this certain boy she can't help but like. . . .
