As soon as I read that Luke had blue eyes, I was like, okay, yeah I can deal with this. As mentioned before, Luke and Sophia ad fantastic chemistry. Like as soon as they met up and talked, you could totally tell there was something there. I seriously got feels left and right whilst reading this. I'm not sure if it was because of the book or because of my romance crave. This book had me laughing, getting that happy romance high and feeling like crying. It was great.
Like I want a Luke in my life, he notices how much makeup Sophia has on, he's good with animals (I LOVE ANIMALS <3) he says romantic lines like I want to know everything about you, he's funny and sweet and urg I just want one!!!
I'm SO excited for the movie to come out on April 10. SERIOUSLY WATCH THE TRAILER, it looks perfect!!! :D
Synopsis:
Ira Levinson is in trouble. At ninety-one years old, in poor health and alone in the world, he finds himself stranded on an isolated embankment after a car crash. Suffering multiple injuries, he struggles to retain consciousness until a blurry image materializes and comes into focus beside him: his beloved wife Ruth, who passed away nine years ago. Urging him to hang on, she forces him to remain alert by recounting the stories of their lifetime together – how they met, the precious paintings they collected together, the dark days of WWII and its effect on them and their families. Ira knows that Ruth can’t possibly be in the car with him, but he clings to her words and his memories, reliving the sorrows and everyday joys that defined their marriage.
A few miles away, at a local rodeo, a Wake Forest College senior’s life is about to change. Recovering from a recent break-up, Sophia Danko meets a young cowboy named Luke, who bears little resemblance to the privileged frat boys she has encountered at school. Through Luke, Sophia is introduced to a world in which the stakes of survival and success, ruin and reward -- even life and death – loom large in everyday life. As she and Luke fall in love, Sophia finds herself imagining a future far removed from her plans -- a future that Luke has the power to rewrite . . . if the secret he’s keeping doesn’t destroy it first.
Ira and Ruth. Sophia and Luke. Two couples who have little in common, and who are separated by years and experience. Yet their lives will converge with unexpected poignancy, reminding us all that even the most difficult decisions can yield extraordinary journeys: beyond despair, beyond death, to the farthest reaches of the human heart.
READ IT!!! IT'S AMAZING <3
WARNING SPOILERS FOR THE LONGEST RIDE BELOW
Okay so when Luke said "Now you look like a cowgirl," I got a dozen doses of the feels. And then I realized, why do I even read romances? They just depress me even more because I DON'T HVE A SINGLE ROMANCE IN MY LIFE.
The horse riding lessons gave me squeals because it was so cute.
"I think I could say the same thing about you."
Like I said before, it really made me even more into Luke when he noticed the amount of makeup she was wearing. Like seriously, that's a guy who's playing close attention. Do those boys even exist? And if so, where can I find one? And he worries about Sophia. I need a Luke Collins ASAP. Like seriously, the only guy that I ever had a slight romance with, when I said I was fat, he said "I'm sorry." LIKE WTF, he has no idea how to woo a girl. "I feel like I want to know everything about you." I WANT ONE.
"Besides, I've tried your mashed potatoes, and if you want her to come back, it's better if I make them." I LOVE LUKE's MOM.
"I could feel my dance moves coming on, and I'd hate to loose control of the truck." SOMEONE FINE ME ONE OF THESE. Like seriously, he's such a good guy, those like, don't exist in the real world. "Beautiful, but then again, you always look beautiful."
Okay, when the whole collection went to them, the only thing I could think was OMG.
AND THEN LUKE PROPOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SFFDJIKBdgvjblvgbfedjhbjfhfhejbfkndbfdhriogirjrhghigijv
