Like the two earlier books, this book had a very dark underlying tone, which I really enjoyed. The characters were sarcastic and hilarious, as usual and the romance was beautiful. If someone were to ask me what my favorite aspect of the book was, I couldn't answer it. I loved the action scenes and how they were described, the wit and sarcasm both Raffe and Penryn displayed, the concept and well, everything about the book. Except the fact that it only comes in paperback.
I'm rating End of Days 10/10 stars, which, as you know, I hardly ever give out. This book was AMAZING and if you haven't picked up this series yet, you're really missing out.
"You're a very special girl, Penryn. An amazing girl. An I-didn't-even-know-someone-like-you-exsisted kind of girl. And you deserve someone who treats you like you're the only important thing and your life because you are. Someone who plows his fields and raises his pigs just for you."
"You're matching me up with a pig farmer?"
***
"If only they knew that the sword that dominated their weapons is called Pooky Bear."
***
"I'll take the Daughter of Man. She should even the odds."
***
"Power is best held by the ones who don't want it."
***
"Who will guard against the guardians?"
I've already reviews the first two books, which I'll link to here. So if you're the least bit interested in picking up this series (which you really should do), check out my thoughts on the first two books!
Now for the spoilers...
SPOILERS BELOW FOR END OF DAYS
THIS IS GOING TO BE A CHOPPY REVIEW< I'M SORRY I READ THIS BOOK A WHILE AGO.
Things started getting, how to put this, heated between Raffe and Penryn pretty early on in the book. But then Raffe was all like, no, I am an angel. And I was like .... NOOO YOU MUST BE TOGETHER.
Okay so I read this book a month ago and I don't remember what everything I wrote in my notes means but I found Raffe founding out about the memory sharing funny for some reason (it probably was hilarious I'm just not remembering it)
When Raffe and Penryn kissed THE FEELS just flowed over me.
"Until then, you're stuck with me being your air taxi." AWWW Raffe, you're adorable.
It was very emotional when Raffe and Penryn separated from each other.
When Raffe got his wings back I literally cheered.
Somehow Susan Ee was able to make Raffe and Penryn fighting together in hell romantic...
I felt so bad for Beliel in angel form, like when he was all sweet and hopeful. Aww.
The biggest feels in the whole book definitely came when RAFFE FREAKING GAVE UP HIS WINGS FOR PENRYN. OMG THAT JUSt. THE FEELS. I CAN"T EVEN.
The only thing that disappointed me about the ending, was Susan Ee never covered or went over what early happened with the crazy moms and the whole "Devil made me do it" thing.
